Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) held graduation vocational program, undergraduate, and graduate students in the third period Sportorium integrated campus in St. Louis, Saturday (30/7). This graduation ceremonial moment is always eagerly awaited as a sign of the end of the study period the student. In this third period, UMY managed to pass students a total of 1,296 graduates consisting of as many as 21 graduates of vocational courses, undergraduate courses as many as 1,167 graduates and 108 graduates of the Graduate Program.
In this period, there were four students who received awards are Roro Supreme Prihatini, S.E best graduate S1 with IPK of 3.97, Andri Setyorini, M.Kep. best graduate S2 with a IPK of 3.96, Adini Nur Azizah, SE as graduates youngest age is currently 19 years 10 months 17 days with a IPK of 3.67, and also Ria Rizki Catonna, SE as graduates graduated fastest with studying for 3 years 4 months 21 day with a IPK of 3.91.
UMY Rector, Prof. Bambang Cipto MA in his speech stated that the moment this graduation means the moment when the student is ready to enter a new world. “Congratulations to the graduates of today you are ready to enter a new world. I also did not forget to thank the parents who have entrusted their children in UMY, “he said.
He also sent a message to the students to continue to learn and do not give up. “As an alumni of UMY, you should not be a quitter. You graduate with a young age with a career path that is still wide open. Therefore we have to continue to learn. As the adage ‘Learn even though up to China, “he said.
Besides Prof. Bambang Cipto, the Court declared a graduation ceremony graduation with graduates most since last 35 years. The same thing was also recognized by the head of the Bureau of Academic, Drs. Bambang Rahmanto. “Graduation Period III is one of the most graduates graduation with a total of 1,296 graduates. This will probably continue into the next years we can be graduated more than 1000 students in one period, “he added.
Meanwhile Roro Supreme Prihatini, S.E, in his speech as the best graduates expressing gratitude S1 can be enrolled at UMY. “UMY as a university that is recognized nationally and internationally are able to provide valuable experience to me while studying in it. Thanks UMY, “he said.
He also said that this graduation is not the end, but the beginning of the real struggle. “For friends, our struggle is not over at this graduation. Today it is the beginning of the real struggle. May our steps forward will be facilitated either in the workforce or continue their education, “he hoped.
